Venus Station Direct in Capricorn: A Revelation at Standstill

Venus, planet of love and resources, has been trekking backward in apparent motion, moving Retrograde through the stoic and aspirational sign of Capricorn, since December 19. Venus is now grinding to a halt, preparing to change directions to Direct, or forward apparent motion, in the wee hours of Friday, January 29, 2022. This Venus Retrograde was particularly demanding, thanks to Venus being conjunct Pluto, planet of transformation, as it Stationed Retrograde in December at 26 degrees Capricorn. Pluto brought this Retrograde a necessary process of letting go, and emphasized issues of control and power struggles. Capricorn already needs to be in control, and Pluto dramatically heightened issues in this regard. This beginning aspect in the Retrograde made us deeply reconsider where we have been spending our love, and our resources. We’ve now had 6 weeks to internalize these lessons, and Venus in Capricorn, even Direct, is no cakewalk…Venus in Capricorn is cold and calculated, goal oriented and the end justifies any means. This Venus Retrograde has forced us to adjust our expectations, and to see harsh truths we may have not otherwise seen. If anything has been holding you back, this Retro was time to finally acknowledge it, and either figure out how to fix it, or let it go once and for all. This was a time of break ups, figuring out how to make up, and in some cases, old love returning to embark upon a new journey. Here we are now, at Station Direct…we have endured the ground beneath us, the structures that underlie our stability, being weakened and shaken up. There has been uncertainty as we have undergone the Retrograde process of reconsidering, restructuring, and necessary realignment. It’s now time for Venus to Station Direct, the final standstill of this process, so that we may now reflect, refract, and react.
This Direct Station comes with it’s very own powerful trigger aspect, with Venus Station trine wild card Uranus in Taurus by a mere 12 minutes. Trines are a positive aspect that offer complimentary energies, in this case, stability of Earth, but we must remember that Uranus lessons may come with a need for rebellion, and unexpected changes. The ultimate response to the control issues asserted by Pluto in the very beginning will now be unbridled rebellion. Uranus being involved here makes this planetary Station quite unpredictable, and we will be under this influence for 2 days while Venus appears to be at a standstill. Though Uranus may demand action from us thanks to this trine, this is NOT time to rush forward, this is not a time to go jumping in, trying to make up for lost time of the long pause of Retrograde. Station is an intensifying moment that takes this energy and brings it to a heavy sense of culmination, and finality. Station is the ultimate moment that stops in time, where Venus will remain at this very spot for now. Uranus in this trine empowers us to make difficult changes with stubborn determination from the sign of Taurus, Fixed Earth that does not back down in the face of a challenge. Uranus does often come with powerful revelations and epiphanies…so remember that during this Station, secrets may be revealed, new directions may be spun for us without warning, provoked and made urgent by the unexpected. Sudden solutions to old problems may appear, if only we have the courage to take that which we feel compelled toward, and hold onto it through this grinding halt.
Every planetary Retrograde is preceded by and followed by a shadow period, where the planet first reaches the point where it will eventually turn Direct at the beginning of shadow, and this lasts past the Retrograde, until the planet once again reaches the degree at which it Stationed Retrograde in the first place. So, in this case, we have shadow that began at 11 Capricorn, then Station Retro at 26 Capricorn, Station Direct at 11 Capricorn, and the end shadow will occur when Venus is once again at 26 Capricorn. In this Retrograde, Venus hit 11 degrees Capricorn to begin it’s shadow period on November 17, so any pivotal situations that happened around then will be strongly highlighted and empowered under this planetary Station Direct tomorrow at this very same degree. We will continue to feel it’s reach all the way through March 1, when Venus finally once again crosses the 26th degree of Capricorn, where this Retrograde period began. Issues that arose during this Retrograde for you will be triggered as Venus works it’s way back through these degrees at forward motion, gaining steam, and giving us the opportunity to synthesize the changes that the Retrograde inspired.
Given that this Venus Retrograde sparked at Station Retro with a transformational deep dive thanks to Pluto, it’s also imperative to consider that Pluto is now conjunct Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn as this Venus Station Direct reaches standstill. This powerful conjunction was exact a mere 4 and a half hours before the moment of Station, giving an incredibly powerful rush of insight into the past here, we are able to touch upon issues that were triggered the first time Pluto and Mercury were conjunct under Direct Motion, back on December 29. These issues may involve communication, and this is yet another aspect where Pluto may divulge the hidden, especially within our understanding of the past, so the intensity upon this Venus Station Direct is further fed by Pluto and Mercury Retrograde affecting us, close to where this Venus Retro Stationed in the first place.
