I will detail the Eclipse itself in a separate post this afternoon, once I have the Eclipse reports all signed, sealed, and delivered. One point of note for all: Eclipse effects can take up to 6 months to fully manifest, so whatever happens today and tomorrow may not be a final resolution. Change is most productive when we’re open to it.
We are now under the beginning of the strange energy that leads up to the Eclipse. It will occur overnight into early Friday morning here in the US, and as we traverse today, this liminal place will intensify. This Taurus Moon is calling us to tune into the needs of the body, and of material security. Moon will sextile Neptune in Pisces at 2:14 PM EST, and expectations and perceptions may be idealistic. Hope must be tempered with realistic, real world effort to build security. Moon will engage in a tough opposition to Mercury in Scorpio at 2:48 PM EST, and feelings can send our minds reeling into obsession and suspicion. Be careful of jumping to conclusions under this opposition. Moon will square Jupiter in Aquarius at 9:23 PM EST, and overindulgence may lead to trouble, especially if it’s part of a pattern of overindulgence to ease emotional tension…whether we’re talking substance abuse, overeating, compulsive shopping, or acting out for attention from others, the behavior we turn to in order to forget other issues can lead to problems if we don’t reign it in today. The discomfort we are feeling under this Eclipse energy is there to push us toward a better way, and seeking to diminish it with old patterns isn’t going to solve anything. Moon will trine Pluto in Capricorn at 10:57 PM EST, adding a deep, dark dive into our intuitive insight, which can be overwhelming as we are stepping into the Full Moon energy of the Eclipse. Pluto is 3 degrees away from where this Full Moon occurs, and this aspect will create an inner stillness that may be disturbing in it’s intensity. Hidden drives will be brought to the surface to be explored.
Mercury is in Scorpio, where we perceive hidden truths while we conceal our own true thoughts and feelings, emotional security is paramount to this sign, and Mercury does everything in it’s power to protect our emotional sensitivity. Mercury will trine Neptune in Pisces, planet of spirituality and intuition, today at 10:38 AM EST, which can make Scorpionic perception uncharacteristically hazy. We may be blinded to the truth in order to remain comfortable. This aspect is best channeled into creative projects to unleash all of these deep emotions, artists, musicians, writers…this is your time, especially if your art tends toward the darker side.
Venus in Capricorn will trine Uranus in Taurus just 2 hours before the Eclipse, which can rock the foundation of relationships as Uranus does things to shock us into awareness. Venus in Capricorn wants to create stability and a strong foundation, the trappings aren’t important, we need to focus upon building something REAL under this Venus…Uranus in this trine is an awakener, showing us what needs to change so that we can DO something about it and put in Capricorn effort. This is a positive aspect, but any time Uranus is involved, uncertainty may be uncomfortable. Be wary of any sudden commitments, as Venus is about to go Retrograde in December. It typically spends about a month at a time in each sign, but thanks to this Retro, we are under Venus in Capricorn until early March.
