Moon enters Taurus 1st quarter 5:52 PM EST
We begin the day under the impatient anticipation of Aries Moon building through the end of the sign, the day starts with a square to Mercury, now Direct, in Capricorn and communication may be tense and challenging. Plans may be disrupted easily, Moon wants to get moving and get things done, but Mercury is careful and cautious and not inclined to adjust when things don’t go our way. Moon will move on to square Pluto in Capricorn just a couple of degrees later at 12:21 PM EST, and control issues may arise. It’s best to remember that emotional upset under this aspect has a deeper meaning, but Aries Moon isn’t going to focus upon that, we’re easily frustrated by minor obstacles and it may take poking and prodding to get to real issues that need to be resolved. Moon will enter sensual Taurus at 5:52 PM, one of the most noticeable transitions of the Lunar month. Aries energy is breakneck speed, bursting forth to new projects, and then we enter Taurus, where we immediately halt, ground into the present, and stop to smell the roses. Taurus Moon will have us craving comfort and security, and we become resistant to change, focused intensely upon current expectations and methods. What is initiated under Aries Moon gets a solid grounding reality check as we progress into Taurus. It’s also important to remember that the Lunar Nodes, our points of past and present, karma in the South and destiny in the North, are now aligned here. North node is in Taurus and South in Scorpio…this emphasizes Moon in Taurus and Scorpio each month, and will make us more easily able to see the need for changes in direction whenever Moon is in these signs.
Mars, planet of action and drive in stoic Capricorn, will square Chiron, the Wounded Healer, in Aries at 7:57 AM EST today, delving into hurt we would rather not acknowledge. This aspect is likely to trigger power struggles and issues of control. This aspect will be exact then, but continue to be active throughout the course of the day. Behavior will be driven by deeper issues than we are consciously aware of, and we will be hypersensitive to criticism. This may be a difficult spin to events, given that Mars in Capricorn, by nature, can be extremely critical and unforgiving. Chiron in Aries is an intensely personal experience that touches upon core issues of self-esteem, and Mars in this square may show up as triggering deep insecurities. Try to keep the lashing out to a minimum, not everything is a competition, though people may seek to turn things into nothing but competition today.
